Oddquine's Moray in Words and Pictures

Anderson's Primary School

Built originally as Anderson's School for the children of Forres, Rafford and Kinloss, from a bequest by Johnathon Anderson, it offered free places to the poor. Until the 1970s, it was Forres Academy, and on the Academy's transplant to Burdshaugh, it became one of three primary schools in Forres. It is situated at the east end of the town, near Grant Park. Directly opposite used to be the Primary School built when compulsory state education was introduced. This school was removed to Applegrove in 1957, and replaced by a purpose-built Community Centre.
